About Me

I was born in All Saints Hospital in Chatham on 21st July 1952.   My parents already had a daughter Sandra who was nearly 5.  I went to Featherby Infant and Junior Schools and to Woodlands Secondary Girls School.  I stayed on for a 5th year at school and learned typing, office accounts etc. and began working as an Office Junior at Bowater Flexible Packaging in June 1968.  I worked for the company for 9 years in the Sales and Accounts Departments.  I lived in the same house in Gillingham until my marriage at Holy Trinity Church at Twydall near Gillingham on 26th February 1977. Pictures of me growing up can be seen here.

My husband James and I moved to our first home, a town house in Rainham near Gillingham. Our first son Neil James was born on 19th March 1978 at All Saints Hospital in Chatham.  Due to my husbands work in the Civil Service, we moved to Fareham in Hampshire in April 1979.  Our second son Mark Richard was born in St. Mary's Hospital, Portsmouth on 10th June 1980.  My husband's work took us to Hamburg in Germany for 18 months, moving there in August 1988 and returning to Fareham in January 1990.  Our next move was to Trowbridge, Wiltshire in May 1990.

I go to various social evenings.  North Bradley Ladies Group is on the fourth Tuesday in every month and W.I. (Women's Institute) on the second Wednesday in the month.  I also have ladies come to my home for a Cross-Stitch meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.  N.B.L.G. and W.I. meet in the same hall and have speakers some months and outside activities, such as skittles or trips on other months.  Since reaching the age of 50, I now go to Autumn Leaves in the same hall in North Bradley on alternate Thursday afternoons.

Since January 2011 we have been going to Sequence Dance classes weekly and to a Ballroom and Sequence Dance weekly.

We also like to go to the theatre, usually to the Theatre Royal in Bath.
